FACTION CAREER PATHS
.
As of October 2021, the Los Santos Fire Department will be gaining a sub-faction, which will house hospital staff within Los Santos. This is strictly on an out-of-character level. The Fire Chief will work in conjunction with a separate team of leaders to run and maintain this sub-faction. This means while hospitals are script-wise under the Los Santos Fire Department, they are owned, operated and maintained separately on an in-character level.

Both the Los Santos Fire Department and the Mount Zonah Medical Center will have their own recruitment and training processes.
  • If you wish to apply for the Los Santos Fire Department, you can do so here.
If you wish to apply for the Mount Zonah Medical Center, you can do so here.
.
You are only permitted to join one side of the faction or the other, and may not join the Fire Department and the Mount Zonah Medical Center at the same time.

See below for a more detailed description of the Los Santos Fire Department Faction, and Hospital Sub-Faction.

Los Santos Fire Department
  • This houses Firefighter-EMTs and Firefighter-Paramedics. Members of this faction are responsible for fire safety, prevention, and containment; motor-vehicle accident containment; and pre-hospital medical aid. You will have the ability to utilize an array of faction vehicles, including, but not limited to, ambulances, engines, and ladder trucks. You will respond to 911 calls requesting fire and/or paramedics and respond to departmental calls when law enforcement requires assistance.

There are a variety of primary and secondary assignments within the Los Santos Fire Department.

    Administrative Bureau
Employee Relations Division (ERD) — Responsible for social media, news releases, and department-wide events.

    Operations Bureau
    Fire Station 11
Urban Search and Rescue (USAR)* — A specialized search and rescue team responsible for operations in dangerous and hazardous locations.

    Emergency Services Bureau
Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) Unit — A specialized, tactically trained unit that is an extension of the Los Santos Police Department's SWAT Team and Los Santos County Sheriff's Department's SEB Team. They work in conjunction with SWAT's EMT Cadre and SEB's Emergency Services Detail.
Air Operations Unit (AOU) — Responsible for aerial firefighting and medevacs.

    Training and Support Bureau
Firefighter Recruitment Section (FRS) — Responsible for handling the application process for Firefighter-EMT applicants.
Recruitment Services Section (RSS) — Responsible for training fire recruits, and conducting their exams.

*USAR is not open at this time, and therefore faction members cannot apply to this division. This is subject to change at the discretion of Faction Leadership.
Mount Zonah Medical Center
  • This faction is responsible for providing advanced medical roleplay for the server, including, but not limited to: doctor visits; ER visits; treatment for diseases; surgical services; and other services one would expect from a hospital. Mount Zonah Medical Center is a teaching hospital, which means students apply for Residency with us in their last year of medical school. When approved for a Residency with us, the medical student joins the faction as an Intern.

There are a variety of tasks and responsibilities within the Mount Zonah Medical Center.

    Interns
They are responsible for working along side of other doctors (under supervision), as well as performing basic diagnostic and treatment procedures. Upon taking (and passing) a Residency Board exam, the Intern becomes a Resident Physician.

    Resident Physicians
They have the ability to diagnose, treat, and operate on patients alone, but are still under the direct supervision of the hospital's supervisory staff. One skilled Resident will be appointed Chief Resident.

    Chief Resident
They have the administrative role of organizing and assigning Residents to patients, as well as ensuring they complete their other work-related duties. They also represent the Residents to Hospital Leadership.

    Fellows
A Resident can also decide to study more thoroughly in one specific specialty in order to become a Fellow. They train directly under the Attending Physician of their choice. Those Residents who choose to have a more general specialty may be promoted to Attending Physician, as long as they've put in the required time, and gained enough experience for the position.

    Attending Physician
The Attendings are considered the hospital's supervisory staff and have full authority over their patients and specialties. They may, at any time, override an Intern, Resident, or Fellow, and decide the best course of treatment for patients.

Chief of Medicine and Deputy Chief of Medicine
These individuals make up the hospital's leadership team. They are responsible for overseeing the hospital in its entirety, with many responsibilities. This can range from administrative tasks, such as handling promotions and demotions, to more hands-on duties that Attendings may also be responsible for.

For more information on the hospital faction, please check out their Public Information section, which you can find here.
