Fellows, after successful completion of a Residency program, may pursue a specific sub-specialty which requires Fellowship training. The Fellowship, typically a few years, allows the physician to conduct research, continue to practice general medicine, treat patients in the specific sub-specialty, and train under the Attending Physician in charge of the given sub-specialty.

Fellowships Available & Board Certification
Currently, Mount Zonah Medical Center offers ten fellowship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Each Fellowship may last from one to three years. The fellowship selected must generally align with the specialty chosen during residency.
- Cardiothoracic Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of organs in the chest, generally the heart and lungs. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
- Clinical Neurophysiology focuses on the clinical and surgical treatment of the nervous system, generally the brain, spine, and nerves. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN).
- Clinical Psychiatry focuses on the clinical treatment of mental disorders. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA).
- Critical Care Medicine focuses on the treatment of critical illness, providing life support, invasive monitoring, resuscitation, and end-of-life care. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM).
- Emergency Medicine focuses on illnesses and injuries that require immediate treatment, typically in the Emergency Room. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP).
- General Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of the abdominal organs, generally the gastrointestinal system. If the physician did not become a member of the American College of Surgeons during residency, then upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
- Medical Oncology focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO).
- Obstetrics & Gynecology focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the female reproductive system. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).
- Orthopedic Surgery focuses on the surgical treatment of musculoskeletal system, generally the bones and muscle structures. Upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS).
- Trauma Surgery focuses on the surgical and non-surgical, acute treatment of traumatic injuries. If the physician did not become a member of the American College of Surgeons during residency, then upon completion of this fellowship, the physician becomes a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is entitled to become a member of the ACS Committee on Trauma (ACS COT); however, COT will not be appended to the physican's title, only FACS.
General Requirements
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States or in the process of applying for citizenship.
- Applicants must possess a San Andreas State Driver's License.
- Applicants must have no criminal history beyond traffic infractions.
- Applicants must be able to clearly communicate in the English language.
- Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with little difficulty.
- Applicants must have received the following vaccines before joining our staff: influenza (subject to annual availability), Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, and Tdap. (( You do not need to receive these in-game; you are obviously allowed to have them as part of your character's background. ))
- Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in any subject from an accredited institution in the United States.
- Applicants must have received a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an LCME-accredited medical school.
- Applicants must have completed their Residency program at a hospital in the United States before joining our staff.
- (( Note: It is permitted to list "The University of San Andreas" or "The University of Los Santos" in lieu of any of the University of California undergraduate institutions, medical schools, or teaching hospitals. ))
- Applicants must have received a score of at least 240 (out of 300) on their United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE).
- Applicants must provide their Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) scores for record-keeping purposes; however, there is no minimum score.
- Applicants must list any board certifications that they may have.
- (( Applicants must have previously been senior residents, fellows, or above in the Hospital (Sub-)Faction, either on LSRP's GTA V server or SA-MP server. Brand new applicants should apply as residents. ))
- (( Applicants must be able to communicate clearly in the English language. ))
- (( Applicants must develop their characters in line with a typical physician's educational/professional development in line with the standards set out here. ))
- (( Applicants may not have an excessive admin record. ))
- (( Applicants, if in another official faction, must receive double faction permission from Hospital Leadership and the other faction's leadership. ))
- Application. The applicant must fill out the online Application for Residency attached below.
- Application Review. Mount Zonah Medical Center's Human Resources will evaluate each application as it is submitted. During this stage, background checks will be conducted and general eligibility will be determined. Several responses are possible to an application:
• Accepted. The application was determined to meet the minimum requirements. Move onto stage 4.
• Revision Required. Some aspect of the application was deemed lacking and must be amended within 48 hours for further consideration.
• Rejected. The application was determined to not meet the minimum requirements. An offer of employment will not be extended. - (( Examination. The applicant will receive study guides and and the Internship and Residency examinations. If the examinations are failed, the each may be administered once more; if the applicant fails the examinations twice, an offer of reinstatement/transfer will not be extended. This is an OOC step since your Doctor character has already completed Internship and Residency. ))
